The point is deep breaths slowly brought in and slowly let out. Also, if it helps, you can imagine all of the negative stress leaving your body. That part doesn't do much for me, but it helps some people.

Breathe for 4 exhale for 4 seconds. Must be deep breaths and you should relax your stomach on inhale and pull in on exhale.
