If I were to move into a trailer how bad would I get shit on by other people?

I'm considering it. It is a place to live. It's fairly cheap. I could call it my own. If that were to make me "trailer trash" so be it.

I've lived in trailers most of my childhood. It really depends on the location. Some trailer parks are actually really nice and clean with nice people.

Living in a trailer doesn't make you "trailer trash". Now a days they are better quality and there are a lot of nice mobile home communities (trailer parks). My Grandmother lived in one up until the day she passed away. Before we married my wife and I thought about buying a double wide, but we didn't have a piece of land to put it on and none of the trailer parks around here had room for it if we did and that was a requirement for purchase. We looked at many really nice ones though.

If it's clean, warm, and safe, then screw what anyone thinks. Life is about survival, and helping others survive.

just  do  proper  research  before   finally  committing.

taxes,  space-rental,  utilities  and  hurricane  insurance.  there's  also  the  not-so-obvious … such  as  animals  setting  up  house  under  your  floor … pipes  freezing  in  winter … animals  chewing  on  things  underneath … thin  insulation … annual  maintenance  of  a  'deck' … hurricane  tie-down  straps … being  in  close  proximity  to  neighbors.

abiding  by  community  'rules'  in  the  chosen  trailer-park … maybe  you  cannot  work  on  your  car … maybe  you  cannot  add  solar-panels  to  the  roof … is  a  canopy  allowed  above  the  front-entry  door … where  do  over-night  guests  park  their  vehicles … how  many  vehicles  are  allowed  permanent  parking … very  small  lot … can  you  use   outdoor  charcoal-grill … neighbor's  barking  dogs  might  drive  you  crazy  with  thin  walls  of  trailer.  i  can  imagine  frame-stressing  might  be another  concern?

you  might  end  up  preferring  a  camper  over  a  trailer … bit  more  portable.  or … another  member  suggested  "tiny house" … which  i  also  consider  a  viable  alternative.

The term Trailer Trash surely has run it's course.
Cheap clean accommodation is how I see living in a "Trailer".
The stereo typical User of the term are usually the affluent and in my honest opinion, they are the real "Trash" of society, looking down on anyone who is not "affluent".
Go for it.

I have been thinking of building one of those tiny houses myself. Although a trailer might be cheaper but you could fix a tiny house if you built it yourself. Besides in todays housing market it would seem the better option.

i have lived in trailers that were nicer than some of my apartments. anybody that turns their nose up at you should get a life.

@Newandimproved I've lived in some sketchy apartments before and I've also lived on the street several times in my life. They don't look all that bad. Like any place it's what you make of it and the pride you take in it.
I live in one along with a neighbor/friend people in school just question and I tell them why I like it

As long as it isn't dirty looking and well kept. I wouldn't mind living in a trailer
