Why does the truth push so many people away?

SW-User Best Comment
Because most people want to be flattered and lied to. The truth or honesty shatters their illusions

Because it’s easier to hide behind the lie
I think it's about validation of their lives. If you praise someone for what they do, they'll cheer and be happy, even if it's such a mundane and stupid little action. But telling someone that goes against validating, it makes them think they've been wasting their actions and lives. Nobody wants to hear that.
That's a good question.

Depends on what the truth is. People like happy sunny pretty news. Not cloudy ugly bad news.
Too bad life isn’t always happy and sunny, alas.
@bijouxbroussard News would be different. Most of the news on TV is about the worst that happens to humanity.

To many "truth" is subjective.
