I wonder how Italians feel about Italian-Americans

DragonFruit · 61-69, M
A lot of Italians have Italian-American family.
People are people, and despite the fact that some people play up differences between Italians and Italian-Americans, it doesn’t seem to bother the Italians (or the Italian-Americans, including myself).

grew up with Italian Grandparents, parents who spoke Italian before they spoke English and us kids who never spoke Italian but understood what are grandparents were saying. we were a close knit family who gathered at Grandmas every sunday for a big family dinner. afterwards the women congregated in the kitchen ,the kids were outside playing and the men had drinks and cigars in Grandpas study. when we had kids they grew up knowing the values of Italian tradition with a respect for the culture the great food and spectacular desserts. they are still close to their cousins and know the story of their heritage. if brought up properly with good values Italians respect their Italian-American and American-Italian Goumbas

I’m mostly Italian American. Im not down with most guidos but not most basic stupid assholes of any ethnicity. Id be fine with anyone I liked.

@NorthernRoses So what do you think of Will Smith & Would You Do Him
I grew up in a largely Italian-American neighborhood. A lot of people were bilingual, and had grandparents or family members living with them who were originally from the “old country”. There didn’t seem to be much distinction.

They probably think they’re traitors
@TonyPajamas Why would they think that ?

@bijouxbroussard I wasn’t serious 🙄

Probably more worried about their failing economy than us American cousins.
