Walk away in silence because they do not value my thoughts. Now if I'm at work and you tell me to shut up it depends on whether it is my boss or one of my employees. You wouldn't want to tell me to shut up at work unless you want to be working the crappiest assignments.:) Yes, I can be childish.

In a reasonable situation like a bomb defusal, I'd shut up. If they were just being rude, I'd return the favor.

When I was a kid, I used to say, "Shut don't go up, prices do!" .
