Does the younger williams brother have a point about sexism in sport.

Or is he just a bad loser.

She is the younger William sister - BAD sportsmanship, did any tell her to abuse the official, did any tell her to smash her tennis racket, her coach was caught giving her coaching from the supporters box - how is this sexism just another overpaid player, a great tennis player but very poor in manners - nothing has changed 2009 abuses an official for doing her job

Well, if she thought a decision unfair, she was right to raise the issue.
But the longer it went on it just sounded like a McEnroe rant from years past.
And THAT to me was deliberately trying to influence a game through unfair means..

@Picklebobble2 Agreed! I don't think she had any complaint for a court violation of smashing her racquet and calling an official a cheat and a thief was disgusting. If I saw juniors talking at that at my tennis club I'd soon out them right on the etiquette of what's acceptable! Good to get fired up but never to abuse officials.

@Petermatureuk3 Have to say i'm not much of a fan of Tennis these days.
'Champions' tend to have long reigns and nobody seems to question whether that's because they're truly exceptional players, or because they all (male or female !) seem to have the same physical characteristics.
Then of course, with long time champions comes the question of whether Umpires or Judges may have been told to let certain behaviour slide because of all the revenue those people bring in to the sport !
I'm sure that must be the ONLY reason people like McEnroe, Nastase, etc survived !

She knew she had gone too far and used the sexism argument in the press conference as a ruse. She completely lost control and I've been hearing players on radio in UK saying the umpire is one of the best. She also,of course, ruined the day for her opponent in what should have been one of the best days of her life.

I admire the Williams sisters but she went too far, I think she knows she went to far. And as for sexism and game penalties, does she not remember McEnroe!!

I do agree with the remarks last week about the player being reprimanded for discreetly rearranging her shirt. That was pathetic and she did nothing wrong.
