That seems a bit early but so many people procrastinate.

The key is preparing in advance.

I believe NC is also in a state of emergency. Looks like the coast is going to get a hard hit. When you consider the damage it's probably better to be safe than sorry.

I think that both of The Carolinas are also under states of emergency as well. It is a bit early, but the state of emergency does allow resources to be deployed in advance of the storm to hopefully minimize any impact.
