@EugenieLaBorgia This kind of abuse is an epidemic and no one seems to notice. The thing about the church is it's supposed to be a safe place .

@kodiac Yes! Agreed!! I read of a case in England some years ago where the education authorities concealed the actions of one of their headmasters who had abused over a hundred boys during the course of his teaching. Rather than dismiss him, he was merely re-allocated to a different school and allowed to continue his career!! I have a friend in Portugal - he is on SW,too - who lived in North Wales in the eighties. He 'pursued' a paedophile with a whole village trying to stop him. The man had been abusing his 7 years old stepdaughter since she was seven. At twelve years old, she finally spoke to her teacher. That man received only two years jail time AFTER he had also begun to abuse another stepdaughter who had just turned seven! Later, my friend's wife pursued another man - in the same village - who had seriously abused his own two daughters of twelve and nine. He only received six years jail time!!
