I hate it when I have a response in mind to a reply I made and the OP doesn’t ask me anything about my initial response

Me too! I'll think I'll get a chance to elaborate or just add more when they reply.. but they don't. Or I want to see what they'll say, in case that would change the other thing I wanted to say, I just need to know where they stand before I continue.
