does one ever get comfortable being lonely? how so?

SW-User
Maybe it’s comfort in the sense that the loneliness is easier to handle than the feeling of anxiety from socializing. I wouldn’t consider that true comfort though. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Cognac my lady, cognac and remembering that the London school of economics has rejected you.

@Sadwithasmile well aren't you a nice boi? But I live in India and cognac isn't that accessible or cheap here... So there's that

@blasphemy666 gimme a visit, we can sit upside down on the coach and talk about our boy troubles while slurping alcohol.

@Sadwithasmile sounds like a plan to me 👍

If you're lonely because you can't make good friends then you will be sad.

But if you're lonely because you wanna spend a couple months alone then you will be content

@Prisoner69 but what if you do wanna make friends but you're an introvert and you don't really like the people you do get to meet. And not because you've high standards at all, but because you're just not compatible
Prisoner69 · 26-30, M
@blasphemy666 that's a social skill related problem.

I had that problem but it more or less lies in tolerating them. People are full of bullshit so to keep up
and maintain relationshipd youu gotta tolerate them.

Secondly , tolerating these people will allow you to expand your social circle more and meet people you truly enjoy being with(yes it's possible)

@Prisoner69 hmm it sounds right in theory. I just broke up with my bestfriend of 7 year. I think I'm afraid of giving people the impression that i care about them when I'm just being friendly and i really don't know how to maintain boundaries. So it's either me having 0 interaction with anyone or me letting them get all into my life too much too soon.

You get used to it with time

Start doing things by yourself more like going to the movies etc then it gets easier
blasphemy666 · 26-30, F
@SW-User i think practicing detachment would be the start but I'm too shallow and too naive
blasphemy666 · 26-30, F
@SW-User yeah... I've been eating alone and i didn't even notice...
