Is Camus's The Plague a boring read ?

It's one of the classics that has stood the test of time.
Great literature is often not easy to read at the start, but gets easier by about the fourth chapter when one gets used to the author's style. Camus' is elegant and understated.
Camus shows horror, death, survival, resilience, and the varying ethical and emotional responses to plague.
Since we've had things like AIDS and Ebola come out of Africa, and various strains of bird flu coming out of Asia, it still has relevance to contemporary world issues.

I enjoyed it overall, but it has its tedious moments.
