Do you think I have a problem?

Do you think the problem lies with me if I keep making friends that seem to be taking advantage of me? I've only ever had two really close friends irl and both of them have swindled me and really taken advantage of me for a while before I realised what was going on. The only other friend I've made apart from them that I got "close" to died last year.

When you meet someone, shake their hand. Avoid those who don't look you in the eyes while they shake your hand. Listen for statements from potential friends that reveal their personalities. Beware of people who are unusually friendly right off the bat. Beware of people who are real loose with the flattery. You have a sincere smile, high forehead, and your eyes are the right distance apart. You know how to read people. Don't kick yourself for being kind! Hope you find that friend who is closer than a brother.

It’s certainly possible.

@LyricalOne what do you think I'm doing wrong?

@rickfreeman15 Don’t know you. Perhaps a little too nice and trusting?

It might help to think back to when you met these swindlers. Did you get a bad feeling about them the first time you met them? If so, in the future, trust that feeling when it happens and steer clear. I could've saved myself a lot of grief if I'd trusted my gut feelings about certain people.

Do.what I do, find a little corner and nest there for eternity, when the world turn their back on you, you turn your back on the world!
