What are some good handmade gift ideas?

I make hand made roses for my son and let him help ,for his Mom
complete with leaves and thorns
and he makes her a card to go with it .
We are not together anymore ,but when she came for some of her stuff I noticed she took the roses (they were is a vase like real one )
So apparently they meant something to her even though she knows he did not make the flowers ,
Easy to make ,cut strips of red paper ,make one edge look like a roller coaster
then its all in how you roll it and then flip the raised parts out in the petals
I used to make them for her when I pealed an apple for her ,
apple peals and orange make cute flowers if you don't break the peal
something my Mom showed me how to do ,she made flower arrangements and other neat crafts
I make a pretty mean sail boat out of a soda or beer can too
sail boats are always a hit in a bar
