@dumpstermeow “pro-life” is a big misnomer. You don’t save any lives by denying women the right to terminate a pregnancy in a clean, safe environment and done by a trained professional. What they are is anti-choice. Likewise pro-choice is not pro-death, it’s giving women the right to make their own medical decisions.

He should be able to because 17 is the age of majority in Texas. I know that first hand from being a stupid 17 yr old that was arrested and went to county lock up and not juvie.

@Scubaguy027 I think this is a case of federal law trumping state law. He can't be executed and be imprisoned more than 40 years without the possibility of parole.

Why 12/13? The part of your brain thats responsible for higher level and future-oriented thinking, the frontal lobe doesn't really develop fully until 25. The difference between a 12 and 17 year old is still pretty slim in terms of decision-making ability. I don't necessarily agree with the death penalty for the kid but some form of justice would be appropriate. Or better yet, a prevention program.
