me i dunno . i wanted to do it but im not sure the benefits

Yes, and I have done so. Sometimes, you can see more of what you want when you're on your own, and you can meet locals and other tourists, too. If you're unsure, perhaps for the first time, take a package tour with other people around your age range.

I moved from ireland to NY alone when I was 20 for two years. And then I moved to Switzerland for another two.. brilliant care free times.

@user533 yep... made a whole lot of friends and I still keep in touch with them. They were great times. Bern Switzerland.. and I used to hop on a train at the weekends and go to any European country and stay in hostels etc.
I have traveled by myself. It´s awesome.

I think you are old enough to do it on your own.
