What is your favorite quote from a book?

IntenseCookie · 26-30, F
"I am truly sorry that man's dominion has broken nature's social union and justifies that ill opinion which makes thee startle at me." From To a Mouse by Robert Burns, off the top of my head. Though that's a poem.

From a book.. maybe "Was there ever a dog that could fly?"
"Yes, but the whitecoats cut off its wings to see what would happen."
"What did happen?"
"It couldn't fly."
From The Plague Dogs by.. Richard Adams?

I'm paraphrasing both of these, by the way 😅

"I guess the reason I always detested religion is its sly tendency to insulate the idea that the universe is designed with "you" in mind..or even worse, there's a divine plan into which one fits, whether one knows it or not. This kind of modesty is too arrogant for me." Christopher Hitchens

I bought a tent at a cheap shop and took it camping on the weekend, the wind came up and blew it to pieces,
It was the best of times,it was the worst of times,it was the winter of my discount tent.
