Do long distance relationships work?

SW-User
They work if you make them work.

If you make them work. I’ve been in one for 1 1/2 years. Looking to move to each other and propose in the near future.

depends what the two of you want from it.

Depends on what you want from them.

It depends on a lot of factors. Like the amount of distance. If there are time zone changes how significant are they. How often can they speak or video chat. How often are they able to afford visits. How long does the distance need to last before they are together. How committed both individuals are. How much love, connection, patience, loyalty is there. The great thing with if both people can remain in love and not let the pain and frustration of being apart ( not easy) is that their communication will be a unique strength. When it’s all you have you get very good at it. It’s not for everyone and some great people who do care for one another sometimes don’t make it through. It’s very emotional and difficult. But if it works out it is worth every tearful night in an empty bed.
