@Pureblossom Pain management is not an emotional thing though, it's physiological.

@Quizzical I know it's not the only factor but getting though it constantly requires you to be emotionaly strong and mentally too otherwise you might just choose to kick the backet before it returns to make you suffer yet again.

@Pureblossom Human childbirth always amazes me... I think as a species we must be doing something wrong. Animals for the most part seem to pop offspring out left and right without any fuss. Yet when humans do it there's blood, sweat, tears, piss, and poop! lol

@Quizzical Actually that video you refer to is the one with the propeganda. One day old babies don't even really have vision they see blurry for a while untill they learn to focus.

@daaaan2000 Newborn babies CAN see, they are just not particularly good at focusing. Beyond a certain distance their vision is admittedly blurred. However, they would be able to tell the difference between a face and a brightly coloured children's mobile. Just as you would be able to do even if you squinted and cross your eyes.

This woman has conducted scientific experimentation and is a specialist in her field.
