I think Prozac is making me more depressed. Anyone ever experience this?

SW-User
Zoloft sent me to the ER. It triggered mania and I went off the deep end.See your doc asap.I hope you feel better soon.

@Serenitree anger sucks. I can relate.

@SW-User The worst effect I got from using Zoloft was right in the beginning, for about three or four weeks, I yawned again and again, but not because I was sleepy. Apparently that's quite typical when adjusting to the sertraline. And, if you can understand what I mean when I tell you this next bit, I'll be surprised, but I have no other way to describe the feeling.

It felt as if ever joint in my body had a stomach, and they all had the stomach flu. Each of them really wanted to puke. But joints have no mouth, so they can't puke.

I used to be on celexa years ago, but i switched to prozac to help with my weight also. I'm going back to celexa. I may be fat but the sex is better lol.

@Gentlequill Lol I didn't know prozac was associated with weight loss. But I have set noticed a decrease in sex drive since I've been on Prozac.
Gentlequill · 51-55, M
@OverMe well the weight loss occurs in rare instances, apparently, lol. Yeah, my sex drive has been in the toilet since the prozac.
OverMe · 46-50, F
@Gentlequill Yeah I kinda don't care that it's taken away my sex drive, tbh. It was hyperactive anyway, and frankly I don't have the energy or motivation for it anyway.

Yes all the anti-depressants make things way worse for me. I've tried a lot and it' amps my anxiety, depression and ruins my sleep.

Yes. I found talk therapy much more helpful.

It's certainly possible. Speak with your doctor ASAP.

Prozac and Ativan nearly killed me. That crazy psychiatrist who told me I'd always be crazy, put me on that combo. Supposedly it was the magic formula. Not for me it wasn't. They took me off it, my doctor put me on Zoloft and it works.

@Serenitree Thanks. Glad you are better now.

@Thevy29 Im pretty sure that's Prozac...?

Your right. [Wikipedia says so.] I have experience some bouts of depression whilst on it. And some suicidal thoughts. But then I changed what time of day I take the stuff.. What dose are you taking?
OverMe · 46-50, F
@Thevy29 I take it at night. I started out with 10mg, and after three weeks when it wasn't really helping, my dr upped it to 20mg. I've been taking that dosage for about two weeks now.
