If you got married young do you regret it?

Ehhh, I don’t regret having the relationship with him...the connection, but we found out through each of us growing into our own over the years that we couldn’t be the traditional husband and wife. Marriage isn’t for us, but sometimes that’s something you don’t learn until after the fact. We’ve evolved into whatever it is we are, and it works for each of us. We’re happy because we are committed to being attentive parents who are communicative, supportive best friends as well.

I don’t regret it because that would mean regretting my children.

I do, however, wish I had spent a few years on my own. I really feel like I missed an important step in my development of as an adult by not discovering who I was before making a lifelong commitment. I’ve never put myself first or taken care of my own needs alone.

I don't regret getting married young, I regret that we married for foolish reasons, and then stayed married for more than two decades, for foolish reasons.
