I didn't have my first "real" relationship 'til I was 23. We were together for over a year, and recently broke up... I'm not ready for promises of forever; I'm not sure where life will take me. If I met someone and we lived together for a while (years), and we were able to communicate and live together without too many problems, growing both individually and together throughout the relationship, I would probably want to marry. But it's gonna take a long time for me to get that comfortable and confident in my trust with someone, to say, "Yeah, let's give this thing a try." Still, you can never really be sure, can you? ... I thought I was going to be with "my first" forever, but it just didn't work out... Who knows what the future has to offer? I won't know 'til I'm there.

@walabby This isn't second best, it's possibly the best thing that's ever happened to me and it's been five years now. I just really don't understand why I have reservations, but there must be some reason. I'm not stupid, I just have to find it. Anyway, sorry it's been all about me, I answered the question because of you. I sincerely hope you haven't settled for second best. :-(

Sometimes you mind plays tricks and makes you over cautious. Get a piece of paper and draw a vertical line down the middle. At the top write,"For" on one side , and "Against" on the other. Jot down things accordingly..
Make sure you burn the note when you're finished.. :)

Hopefully they will become that. Meanwhile, no rush to find it. It will grow within a relationship where you both keeps feeling comfortable around each other, and no need to stay in one that doesn't offer such, just be aware that it takes time to build a unity as we all come from different paths and directions in life and will have to adjust to fit into a long lasting relationship.
