Why do most people get shocked when they find out there are white people who are African?

sighmeupforthat · 46-50, M Best Comment
they're ignorant.

and most likely bigots.

remembers a few times some of these types told some blacks to "go back to africa" and one went.. but my family's from ireland.

the little bigot could not believe it and started shouting all kinds of insults at the poor person.

then i stepped in going "well, my family hails from (forgot the name of the country, but from africa) why don't you TELL ME to go back?"

they just went off big time. the other person called the cops and videos were taken from patrons all over.

i wonder if it ever landed up on youtube.

sheesh.

I'm not sure. I'm a White African. I was born in Africa and so were my parents.

Here's an interesting thought though. A while ago I was told by a Black African that I don't have the right to call myself African. He said I should go back to Europe. I told him I've lived here my whole life and I'm going to die here.

I think most people's idea of African involves dark skin.

@Wraithorn Oh and I cannot but help mentioning that Charlize Theron is African.
