What do they do to you in rehab for eating disorders?

After this semester for school I'm being forced to go

Make sure you eat right and make sure you don't purge and therapy. Most of all you need to know you are worth being well. I hope you find healing.

It varies, like any treatment would.

A lot of the time, you lose a good amount of freedom during the first few weeks. It's a little dehumanizing... but in the end, if you put as much in to your recovery as you have harming yourself, you'll have a beautiful transition in to healthier coping and habits.

Expect regular weigh-ins, scheduled and supervised meals, open-door policy, therapy sessions that are both individual and group, healthy habits classes or training, and strict rules that grow stricter with misbehavior.

I wish you a healthy recovery. Heal well <3

My best friend went to such a rehab for 4 months but she was under 18 so I'm not sure the same things would apply. At first they didn't let her have a phone (for like 2 weeks). They didn't let them flush the toilet, they would check them up regularly and they had teachers for the most important lessons. I think they let visitors only every weekend and after a while she could get out for one day if she wanted.

@FutureIdol I think that's how it feels like but they do all these things so that the outter world won't influence you in a bad way.

You should look at it as a positive thing. It could save your life.

@FutureIdol Ok. Well it'll be soon anyways. Use it as an opportunity to get your mind & body healthier. Stay optimistic.

I imagine they have a lot of classes for you to take about nutrition and healthy lifestyles and some therapy such as talking and whatever. Plus medical tests and whatever.
I won't spoil the surprise for you. But you will learn and hopefully stop abusing yourself.

Sorry to hear about your disorder, usually they want to understand what the cause is and work on that.

Maybe research treatment for your disorder.
