Why is it in F.B. there are multiples of people wanting me to 'FRIEND them?

We have never met F2F We do not share friends. Why the need to collect?
Had a disagreement with one chick and wished I could unfriend or BLOCK her. (I had one that was extremely ANTI Trump with a following of many.
I told her to delete my post and unfriend. She hasn't.

You can unfriend and block them especially if you’ve never seen them and are never going to.
