Do you know anyone who is addicted to zanax? And how did their personality change after taking them?

I have an addiction to Benzodiazepines, I am off them completely now (2 years) but the withdrawals were hell and it changed me as I didn't care about anything but getting my fix at the time. I could only function if I popped a pill and I thought I couldn't live without them.

I was perscribed it as a teenager. Also knew a couple benzo addicts. It would just make me black out, entirely. Woke up to a brand new, expensive, T.V. and an empty bank account one morning with no memory of going anywhere.

Benzos are essentially alcohol in a pill. So you could probably draw parrelells between the two.

I don't know about addicted but I do know a few who were prescribed it for panic attacks.....and they will go nowhere without it. The fear of the panic attacks is so debilitating they will do nothing without the Xanax being nearby. Are we speaking of the same drug....the one I know if is spelled Xanax but pronounced the same?

They turned into wrecks because they were eating bars of that stuff. Nervous, sick wrecks.

I was for a while before I had kids. I wouldn't remember hours out of the day. Totally out of it.
