The wife and I took a ride over Skyline Drive national park in Virginia today.

Skyline Drive is in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. You get a beautiful view of the Shenandoah valley.

@Stereoguy I think it's five times to NC. We hadn't been since 2009 when we went this year. Linville Falls then:

Unfortunately the section we ran out of time for in June. We hired an RV and went the complete length of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

@Stereoguy We had nearly two weeks all together, but we got the RV from Orlando so there was a bit of driving both ends of the trip. We stayed at various campgrounds along the way, although one night we couldn't find anywhere so parked up at a Walmart! We'd done the southern part of the Parkway previously but not the bit in Virginia.

Thanks! We had a great time. We have friends in Jefferson NC so we stopped there for the middle weekend. We'd do it again but in a smaller vehicle. We had a baby by your standards, at 22 foot, but it was a pig to drive and very thirsty. We saw quite a few smaller ones but all privately owned - we couldn't find any smaller ones for hire. We've often spoken about buying an RV but would need a bit more cash available than we have if we're to get anything better than a rust bucket! Walmart was fine - and free, with free wifi. No hookup of course but that didn't worry us for one night.
Be still my heart. My fave state and fave place to visit. Beautiful pics. 👍

That's a beautiful area, I'd love to take a scenic drive in the mountains in eastern Oklahoma when the leaves turn colors.

@Stereoguy Have to go on a Sunday I guess...some years the leaves don't turn till late and then it gets too rainy or whatever. I think this year will be one like that, here it is in the last of October and the trees are all still green here. Supposed to have our first freeze Friday.
