What, if anything, do you regret?

Picklebobble · 56-60, M
Oh wow! Lots !!
I regret: Not studying harder at school.
Not being brave enough to try new things.
Spending SO long in jobs, houses; relationships etc that did more harm than good!
Not following through on plans made.
Not dealing with disappointment better.
Losing people I regarded highly. Mainly because I didn't fight hard enough to keep them!
Not being a regular saver.
Etc.
Wow. What a depressive way to start the day:(

Getting married.

I regret that I´ve entered a marriage which costed me almost my son and my own life.

Not appreciating the free time I had as a kid.

Kitty - I got divorced after 10 years of marriage. It was hard. I grew up a lot between being a college senior and my 30s. And the ex hated me for not being the same devoted little kid I once was.

Pickle...! Wow that's quite a list. But it's good to understand the things you regret so that you can avoid doing the same in the future. I guess? Just trying to make you feel better....
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
Yes. I escaped already 16 years ago together with my son out of my marriage, but I am paying the bill of my marriage still till today...

Trusting other people's judgment over my own. Turns out, my own is better.

Loretta...I hope you have found a way to get out of your bad situation. 😢

If anything? It's more like, "How do I settle on one thing?"

I got married at 21. That's a regret. I stayed married years after I realized it was not good, that's the follow up to that regret.
Well many moons ago I had a chance to hook up with this great girl but I choose the sure thing over her ,I've regreted that ever since

Settling. In so many areas of my life I have settled over the years. Took it's toll and it's still my biggest regret.

Im so sorry Lisa. I can only believe that you were doing what you thought you should in the moment.... 💜

I regret not having acted the best to some friends, it makes me feel embarrassed thinking about it. I thought I was being funny but I hurt my friend's feelings. When they forgave me, I felt doubly convicted and determined never to do such a dumb joke again.
SW-User
Awww. Sounds like you made amends. Nobody's perfect. Life is about making mistakes and then doing better. It's fine.
SW-User
Yes... I was 18. It was just a stupid joke, but kinda cruel, and I learned from it. My friend didn't really hold it against me. I was surprised.

Going back.

Not spanking my girl friend when she wanted it so bad, and kept hinting about it.
We were 17. She married someone else, and six months later the desire to spank finally woke up in me, and I have craved it ever since.

Starrynight--whoa that must be a difficult regret to live with. Thank you for sharing it with me. 💙
SW-User
Did you get divorced, and if so how far into the marriage?
Lisasmiling · 46-50, F
I became very mentally sick and left my husband and my children
SW-User
I regret most, never having had children.
SW-User
Not trusting my gut instincts
SW-User
Lisa, who or what did you leave?
