Is it possible for a person to be so traumatised that they misinterpret certain behaviour?

If a person is constantly told another person is a liar and a cheat, when they over hear a conversation could that cause them to misinterpret what's being said.

If a person is raped and taken advantage of over and over could they misinterpret kindness.

If this person is always angry and someone tells they are angry will it be hard for them to recognize they are.

Is there a term for such behaviour?

I would think so.

@Peppa All possibility resides within the one that needs fixing and their faith that they can.

@SteelHands how do they go about fixing it?
SteelHands · 61-69, M
@Peppa You know how. A person looks outside themself. Without measuring things by the past.

Time is too precious to lose the future by not letting go the past.

Everyone knows this. Most try to live by it. Only a very few succeed fully. Help often helps. As long as help doesn't become a crutch.
