Do you ever get jealous of other people's relationship with their parents?

electropura · 31-35, M
Not really. I'm more jealous of the platonic relationships people have.
electropura · 31-35, M
@OverMe Yes, that's correct.
OverMe · 46-50, F
@electropura Sorry to hear that. I would struggle with that as well. This place is full of good people, tho they're often found amongst the weeds....
electropura · 31-35, M
@OverMe Well, I think it's passed me by. There are good people but chances are they've got their circles closed for business.
StevenIzzi · 51-55, M
Yes and no.

My father was an AMAZING role model, he taught me respect, integrity, how to be a good father and husband.

Now the negative....He was not as good of a friend in that we did not throw football / Baseball etc. back and forth, or have many common interests.

That being said I was an active kid with many friends that I spent time with so I would have to say that there is equal blame to share as I did not spend time with him as well as a friend.
OverMe · 46-50, F
@StevenIzzi That's really sweet. As for the negative--he must not have been into sports? Guessing he did not do that with his dad. Still too bad he didn't do it with you tho. 💙
StevenIzzi · 51-55, M
@OverMe He took me to my football games, he took me to my hockey games and my wrestling and martial arts tournaments, He played football and hockey. I think that I am as much to blame as I was busy with my friends doing what I wanted to do with my father.
OverMe · 46-50, F
@StevenIzzi Sounds like a really great father. 💙💙💙

I sometimes am jealous of people with a loving father figure
OverMe · 46-50, F
@SW-User Me too. And also other women, specifically, who consider their mother their best friend.
SW-User
That's probably the only thing I get jealous of :'(
OverMe · 46-50, F
@SW-User Im sorry. But you're still so young--maybe things will change for you eventually...? 💙
SW-User
@OverMe Well I'm good with my dad finally, but nothing will ever repair the relationship with my mother. That train left the station :P
BitterSweetPotato · 31-35, F
Not jealous, I just feel sorry for myself.

it's a mystery but.. hey, happy is where it is and soo many pitch a bitch about happy yet then whine like little ... ..... about when there is joy, wtf is up with that?

people are hypocrites.

oh don't get me wrong, i was fostered and... slaved around.
not very happy but.... i seen how where joy should have been but was wasted.

my guardians children were unappreciative brats!

SaintAdelaide · 31-35, F
No, I accepted that I'm born into shit family and I got over it. My only responsibility is to make sure I'm a better mother to my children.
OverMe · 46-50, F
@SaintAdelaide Sorry to hear that, but good for you for being better. 💙
goneeee · F

Use to because I have to admit it was more functional, but not anymore as it really changes nothing

[c=#800055]no but it makes me angry at my mom when I think how she could've been more like the other mothers. Im happy for friends who had good moms. :) [/c]
