Have a storm preparation shopping mania story?

Here is mine. I did most of my prep shopping on Tuesday, but my elderly mother wanted a few things on Thursday. Store was mostly cleaned out, by that point. Lots of the staff had been deployed to restock. I got the last paper plates on the shelf. There were no trash bags besides the expensive ones. I spot a value brand box of black trash bags, way up on a top shelf. Even I am not tall enough to reach it, but I use a box of trash bags to scoot it closer to the lip and I nab it. They just restocked the last 4 boxes of powdered milk. I get 2 of them. I am going aisle to aisle, in the same general area, for about 20 minutes. Keep seeing this shopping cart of items that no one has attended to. There is no 1 ply toilet paper left on the shelves. In that seeming abandoned cart is a a 12 pack of one ply, so, as I was approaching the check out aisles, I nabbed it. 😈 Ah well. There was some 2 ply left. My toilets just don't like it. Couldn't get any charcoal or lighter fluid. That can wait til after the storm, I suppose, cooked everything left in the fridge. Not looking forward to the week(s) without power, especially in the swelter that is likely to follow the departure of the storm. Will catch up on my reading. Probably Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami and The Prophet by Khalil Gibran, to start.
Good job. Proud of you Daniel. 👍

@SW-User Thank you. :) We fled from the hurricane last year, it was such a hassle and expense and it's an ordeal to move my elderly disabled mother any great distance. So we figured local shelter if it turned out real bad, but the current track looks survivable, where we are, way east and north, so we're gonna ride it out. *fingers crossed*
