Are you shy and an introvert in your real life?

Well, I'm generally quiet. I draw my energy from "me time." People are taxing to me. So yes, I am in introvert. That doesn't mean I'm shy or anti-social or a snob. I'm happy to engage with people, just don't expect me to be the one saying Hi first.

Yeah, but it depends on the type of people I'm surrounded with at the spare of the moment, but if I'm with people I'm comfortable with then I'm an extrovert... How about you????

yes i am, but i like my life that way. i'm 37 now, but in my earlier years in my late teens and early 20's , i always hated all the pressure to go out and socialise and so on, cos the only time i ever feel sad and alone is when i was out socialising, cos i usually had nothing in common with anyone else!!

No and yes. I meet and talk to many people every day. I have to network as part of my career. At a large party, I can talk to people I don't know.

And, yet, I prefer a very small group of close friends. I let few in.

Does that make me an extroverted introvert?

@SpiritOfSoul I guess I don't think of it as good or bad. For me, introversion vs extroversion is about how you feel being around groups of people. Extroverts are typically energized by groups. Introverts find being around groups to be physically draining. I'm not a particularly shy individual...just chattier in smaller groups.
