I bought my friend flowers just because well she's my friend. I'm secretly planning a baby shower for my other friend. I'm raising 3 children alone - I'm not the perfect mother but I have my priorities in place. I go for coffee at an elderly couples house just because they're nice people and want company. I looked after my friends children for her so she could watch her eldest leavers show.
