I Forgave The Man Who Raped Me When I Was Young

I feel like this is the thing that lots of people can’t get their heads around. I have forgiven my rapist and in many ways I love and care about him. I certainly won’t ever forget what he did to me but I can forgive it and that makes me feel good. I don’t know, it’s kind of weird.

I’m sure that will be strange to many people, but I’m glad you were able to give yourself some closure. It lets you live past it and face the world it will always be a part of you, but you’ve done something to make that burden much lighter.
