I Live In Canada

Today is a big day in Canadian history. Way back in 1929 a simple legal question was answered . That question..."Does the word 'Persons' in section 24 of the British North America Act, 1867, include females?

So happy Persons Day to all the ladies out there.

So what was the answer? I presume it was "yes"...?
When were women allowed to vote in Canada?

@walabby 1916. Persons Day is more a shitty battle between political parties. The Prime Minister at the time wanted to appoint the first female senator but the opposition countered with she couldn't be one because of how the laws were worded "she" wasn't a legal word and therefore not a person.

@CallmeJD Typical mealy mouthed politicians. They're the same the world over, since time immemorial... >:(
