I Am a Believer In Education

It is not hard to learn more. What is hard is to unlearn when we discover ourselves wrong. It’s not a question of learning much. On the contrary. It’s a question of unlearning much. Education consists mainly of what we have unlearned.

Sometimes the ignorant are among the most educated. Real education should educate us out of self into something far finer; into a selflessness which links us with all humanity. Education must provide the opportunities for self-fulfillment; it can at best provide a rich and challenging environment for the individual to explore, in his/her own way.
