There was a time when the Muslims were the most tolerant folk on earth, so much so that the Turks took in all the Jews who were fleeing Europe from persecution. And NOTHING is impossible to imagine. The mad old Mongols were a tolerant lot when it came to religion, but throw in abit of good old Abrahamic religion and a few hundred years of bullshit tribalism once it all fell apart and you've Got Khan Bin Laden.
