Jesus said "Dead will bury the dead", what do you think it means? [Spirituality & Religion]

Jesus was speaking of those who were spiritually dead—those who were alive physically, but dead toward God in their souls. We may be very strong and healthy physically, and yet be spiritually dead—which is far more serious.

When someone in Jesus’ day said they wanted to go bury their father, it didn’t necessarily mean he was already dead. Instead they really were saying that they wanted to stay with their father until he died—something that might be years away. Jesus had asked the man to be a disciple.This man was simply looking for an excuse to avoid becoming Jesus’ disciple.

I think he said "let the dead bury their dead"
It was said when he invited a new disciple to follow him. He was speaking of persons that were spiritually dead would take care of traditional obligations. The Living would recognize the need to follow Jesus.

I think it mean that there are more important things to think or worry about than the dead.

Care about the living and of course Christ himself.

Can be whatever the hell you want it to be, that's the beauty of poetry and symbolic language. It can also lead to alot of mad folk cutting each other up, but if its interpreted in a friendly way than not a problem.

That zombies will bury other zombies. What else could it mean?
