A Living Cell Under An Electron Microscope [Spirituality & Religion]

Don't tell me that Yahweh doesn't live. If one of those codes becomes out of order, the cell will die. Each of the codes in DNA and RNA are distinct which makes cats look and act like cats, dogs who look like dogs and act like dogs, horses become horses, and cows become cows, etc, etc, etc.
reflectingmonkey · 51-55, M
what about inactive, dormant genes and atavism? the structure of DNA seems more of a trial and error than a structure created by a super intelligent being. if it was created it wouldn't have left-over genes that are rendered useless by more recent genes.
Viper · M
@GodSpeed63 Exactly, you proved my point... they weren't perfect.

@Viper
Exactly, you proved my point... they weren't perfect.
They were perfect until they consumed the knowledge of good and evil.
Viper · M
@GodSpeed63 Exactly, your response suggest that you agree with me, hat they are no longer perfect... human aren't perfect no more.

Have you ever convinced anybody with this garbage? It's cool if you want to believe whatever, but you are not very convincing.

@Bushranger
But the title of the post was deceptive.
How so?
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@GodSpeed63 Well, let's see, "A Living Cell Under An Electron Microscope". You can't see a problem with that?

@GodSpeed63
your recent posts
Could you highlight an example showing where I have objected to the process that is depicted in the animation?
Carazaa · F
What they don't understand is that things don't happen by themselves. It takes energy, and energy is not just appearing but has to be created from another source, hence God is the only logical source. Because we can not create a single cell as complicated as it is.
Lynda70 · F
@Carazaa
It is God ofcourse, and its so hilarious that any atheist will dance around that.
Not half as funny as watching Christian creationists dance around the question "Who made God?"
Its a matter of logic, and at least an average IQ.
Exactly. Absent any real evidence that God exists, there is no logical reason to believe it does. An average IQ should be more than sufficient to comprehent that simple fact.
bystander · 70-79, M
@Carazaa if you wanna to now about how cells come to be you could try asking that Janine woman except you’re so scared of her that you blocked her didn’t you?
bystander · 70-79, M
@Carazaa Things don’t make themselves so what made your god?

An argument from incredulity, with a bit of irreducible complexity fallacy thrown in.
Sharon · F
@GodSpeed63 You ought to just admit that you have nothing to show for your claims and let it go at that. Continually repeating the same old debunked claims just makes you look foolish.
Sharon · F
@LordShadowfire
Are you an atheist trolling as a creationist
If so, he's doing a very good job.

@GodSpeed63 Quit talking to your reflection in the mirror.

But what about the Platypus? It blows your theories all to hell!
Sharon · F
@GodSpeed63
Read the scriptures, what do they tell you?
That they're just a collecton of myths and superstitions. But we all knew that already.
Lynda70 · F
@Bushranger
I ask because I notice AIG have dropped the belief that all land based life was destroyed.
Are they really now doubting "God's word"? That's astounding!
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Lynda70 I was interested to see what they said about insects on the ark. My thinking was that echidnas must have been on it, because they are alive today. But echidnas only eat termites and ants, so Noah would have need to have had colonies of those insects on board. Mind you, the idea of having at least one large colony of termites on board a wooden ship for a year is interesting.

So, I looked up the AIG site and, sure enough, there it was, in black and white, possibly more than two of each insect even with the idea that Noah and crew might have used some of them to compost the animal waste (wouldn't it have been easier to just jettison it?). The also talked about the possibility of insect colonies surviving on rafts of vegetation. Clearly not a literal interpretation of the story.

But it's interesting that they try to use all "science" to prove their interpretations, but reject actual science because it doesn't fit their agenda.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
So you’re saying if the current situation were changed, it would no longer be the current situation.

Wow, that’s really trivial

Do you find some sort of deep meaning in that?

Seriously?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@GodSpeed63 defend it from what? You’ve offered absolutely nothing to threaten it. Ironically, I’m the one who spends a considerable amount of time trying to overturn the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2
defend it from what?
The Truth of God.
Sharon · F
@GodSpeed63
The Truth of God.
A myth isn't much of a threat to a well tested scientific Theory supported by heaps of evidence. Try again GodSpeed63
AnonymousJSS · 22-25, F
Your Yahweh is not real.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Sharon
Where's your evidence that it is real, GodSpeed63?
Let her answer for herself, Sharon. You have yet to show that Yahweh doesn't live. I suggest you get cracking.
AnonymousJSS · 22-25, F
@GodSpeed63 Evidence? It’s like trying to disprove the tooth fairy.
I’ve never claimed Yahweh exists, therefore the burden of proof is on you.

Translation: "I don't understand biology, therefore Jesus."
Sharon · F
@newjaninev2 Yes, he's busy making a fool of himself, claiming everyone and everything else is "too funny". A total waste of spacetime.
Sharon · F
@reflectingmonkey They usually try using childish insults to try to convert others to their beliefs. They don't seem to understand that such tactics only alienate others further.
reflectingmonkey · 51-55, M
@Sharon yes, insults is when they have lost and don't realize it yet. its very simple, if someone has a solid argument to put on the table they will always favor that over insults, when someone resorts to insults its because they have nothing better to throw at their opponent, basically means they have run out of intelligent arguments.

Yes, it happens all the time. What's your point? That Yahweh is an incompetent designer?

Cool video, thanks.

It would be interesting to see how mutated cells (cancer) interrupt that chain of events.

@Emosaur
An all-powerful and all-good god could and would prevent all bad things and allow no suffering
Who would get credit then? Who would we thank? How would we know that God prevented all bad things and all suffering if we've experienced those things? God is not one to blow His own horn on such matters. You want to live in a perfect world where those don't exist, then get saved.
@GodSpeed63 Sounds exactly like God is blowing his own horn. He creates a world with evil in it so he can save us from evil for his own glorification and to be thanked and worshiped. Which is what the Bible and biblical scholars also say. That he wants glory.
Also you say the world would be perfect if everyone was saved. But if everyone was saved and there were still problems Christians would then turn on each other (as they always have done) for not being saved enough.

@LordShadowfire
If You don't know English I cant help you sorry. Ive explained
why there is evil everyday for 2 years but I will again and maybe you will get it this time.
Carazaa · F
@LordShadowfire

Here is a summary of why there is evil in the world, and other questions about God.
This is my understanding after studying the Bible for over 40 years!

1. Why is there evil in the world? Because God created angelic beings and human beings with a choice to love or hate. God has rules to love and not be sinful or selfish. He has consequences for sin. There is no sin in heaven at all. Satan rebelled against God and was thrown out of heaven and he is trying to win people for himself and he is a destroyer of life and deceives people into doing evil. Adam and Eve were deceived by him because he is a liar, so they were banned from paradise forever and so are their childrens children. Why are there starving children, murder, famines, earthquakes, fires, and animals starving? Because God cursed the entire creation when we sinned. And He has laws in the universe that are followed.

2. What is Gods plan for humanity? His plan is to destroy this sinful world and make a new heaven and a new earth where there are no tears. Jesus, Gods Son, came to save us so we can experience this new heaven when we die Because He loves us! Because all humans have sinned, Jesus humbled himself and came down from heaven, came to us as a baby, and lived a sinless life, proved he can raise people from the dead, and died on a cross, and was raised himself the third day. All who believe in him will be saved from the wrath to come. When the gospel has gone out to the whole world that's the end.

3.Did God know that Satan and humans would sin when he made them? Yes he had a plan to win people for himself to live in heaven with him. He wants us to tell people about his salvation plan to get to heaven when we die.

4. Does God hear all prayers? NO he does not! We are banned from his presence. He is very clear in Romans and other verses he does not hear the ungodly's prayers, only the Godly's prayers.

5. How do we get God to hear our prayers? We repent our sins, and believe in Jesus who died for humanities sins. Then the Holy Spirit comes into your heart and you are saved. Then he hears your prayers. But he wont answer them unless you have faith and are obedient to his word. If you have prayers that are unanswered it is because either you are not obedient, or you do not have enough faith, or God is teaching you something, or he has a better plan for you. We should always pray for Gods will in our prayers because he knows best. Often we grow through hard times. Thank God for the hard times too!

6. Why does God not kill Satan now? Or destroy all evil now? God is soon going to burn up the world and ALL evil, but he is waiting for the gospel to go out to the whole world and people to repent and be saved first. He is watching who is doing his will loving people to christ. Then Jesus will come back and all saved will go to heaven and the ungodly judged by Jesus for every evil thought and deed.

7. How does God want us to live? He wants us to love God and treat people the way we want to be treated ourselves. He wants us to be thankful for everything!

8. How to handle it if someone hurts us? Jesus says to love our enemies, and pray for those who despitefully use us! But we should not yolk together with unbelievers.

9. Is the Bible accurate? Yes! It has been proven accurate. Some people say it has errors but they have misunderstood those verses. The Bible is the most respected history Book by historiens than any other book at universities.

10. How do I become successful in life? If you follow the Bible to love God, and people, and give first to him in money and time you will be successful, it is Gods promise!

I hope and pray you will heed Gods word in the Bible!
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Carazaa I don't respond well to people who choose to insult me before they post the same unproven arguments.
1. Why is there evil in the world? Because God created angelic beings and human beings with a choice to love or hate.
That is on him. Since he knows literally everything, he knew how it would turn out, yet he did it anyway.
Satan rebelled against God and was thrown out of heaven...
Again, either God knew that was going to happen, or he doesn't know everything. So which is it?
2. What is Gods plan for humanity? His plan is to destroy this sinful world...
...that he created...
Because all humans have sinned, Jesus humbled himself and came down from heaven, came to us as a baby, and lived a sinless life, proved he can raise people from the dead, and died on a cross, and was raised himself the third day.
Yeah, huge sacrifice. He's immortal. He was dead for a weekend. And why did it literally take him coming down and killing himself by sacrificing himself to himself before he would save us from himself?
3.Did God know that Satan and humans would sin when he made them? Yes...
Then he created evil.
4. Does God hear all prayers? NO he does not! We are banned from his presence. He is very clear in Romans and other verses he does not hear the ungodly's prayers, only the Godly's prayers.
Apparently, among the people considered ungodly are 2-year-olds with leukemia, people with fibrodysplasia ossificans progresiva (human statue disease, look it up), unborn fetuses who are miscarried, and so forth. Why does God hate babies so darn much?
5. How do we get God to hear our prayers? We repent our sins, and believe in Jesus...
I love how you pretend your audience consists of people who have never tried that. Apparently, God didn't want me, so when I tried to reach him, he tossed me in the discard pile and gave me cancer for my trouble.
6. Why does God not kill Satan now? Or destroy all evil now? God is soon going to burn up the world and ALL evil, but he is waiting for the gospel to go out to the whole world and people to repent and be saved first.
Why? He didn't wait the first time before flooding the whole planet. He just killed millions of men, women, and babies with no compunction. Has he suddenly grown a conscience since then?
7. How does God want us to live? He wants us to love God and treat people the way we want to be treated ourselves. He wants us to be thankful for everything!
That's a good attitude to have, but you don't need to have a belief in an invisible friend to have an attitude of gratitude.
8. How to handle it if someone hurts us? Jesus says to love our enemies, and pray for those who despitefully use us! But we should not yolk together with unbelievers.
Another thing for which you don't need to believe in a literal translation of an ancient book of mythology to do.
9. Is the Bible accurate? Yes! It has been proven accurate. Some people say it has errors but they have misunderstood those verses. The Bible is the most respected history Book by historiens than any other book at universities.
People like you always say that. But you never tell me which historians you're talking about. And you can never come up with a good answer for why it is the Bible says bats are birds and pi = 3. If the Bible said 2 + 2 = 5, would you believe that?
