@LeopoldBloom The thing is, at least in the context of physics, people that hold Biblical literalism regarding science should be condemning quantum mechanics, quantum field theory, thermodynamics, special and general relativity, nonlinear dynamics— but it’s only cosmology that catches flak.

@Faith13praise The Old Testament describes the water cycle partially or completely in many different contexts. The most extensive being the Book of Job.

It is still pseudoscience, or something that appears to be science, at least to the person who asserts it is revelation. Science is never a revelation.

If one wishes to say that the people of the Levant observed the land and sky and determined the water cycle, that is fine too. It is science. But then it is not revelation.

There are living examples of evolution. Ring species . Animals that have become so genetically different they can no longer breed with their parent species. Happens all over the world. Look it up.
Maybe the problem is you mistake evolution for abiogenesis, the actual origins of life itself. Not the same as evolution. Two different sciences.
I started out looking for an honest debate. So far you haven’t back up one claim. I can draw from a dozen scientists on the web, all you have is the name of one debunked creationist. And as I said before, what you consider a sad little joke is still the mainstream of science. And it works. That’s why it’s still here.

I went from one side to the other because the paradigm I was taught did not meet my standards of evidence. To say that common genes means only common ancestor is silly since it could also indicate common designer. Which is more likely to have occurred. Common ancestor is nonsense because it does not explain how it started and how it survived. Given that life forms are extremely interdependent so as to make the earth seem like one living organism. Take away a few species from an ecosystem and the entire ecosystem collapses. Just for example. There were some very rare plants in the Southern US so it was decided to fence a section of them off so the animals could not destroy them. Sadly the plants needed the animals to chew on them to survive and so all the plants in the fenced off area died. The plants outside the fence continued to live. Hmmmm. So how do you explain the survival of the first cell? How long did it have to live before it 'evolved sufficiently to recycle its own waste?

They can't debunk the genuine Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection so they've invented their own, deliberately flawed, version. Then they dishonestly present that as the genuine threory and point out all the flaws in it. There are no depths to which christians won't sink to promote their made up god.

You are looking at it backwards, if the conditions weren't right for us to evolve, we wouldn't be here, it doesn't mean that there was a plan.
