"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him [Spirituality & Religion]
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." John 1
In the very late stages there was the invention of god and religion

@yeronlyman Looks like Dippyjoe has blocked me again. :) Has he run away from you too?
Carazaa · F
@Sharon He unblocked you before?
Sharon · F
@Carazaa Yes. He blocks when he can't refute a point made by his opponent then, when he thinks eveyone has forgotten about it, he comes crawling back. That seems to be a common practice among christian creationists. I suspect it's part of the training.

The Word is better translated as Thought or Logic or Stream of Consciousness. Everything that is is the result of the Thought of God. Of course the Thought of God does not act without the Will of God starting it and the Will of God and the Thought of God can not act without the Presence of God in which They can act. Thus the Trinity we know as Yahweh.

@Sharon Santa Claus now gives Eternal Life? I wasn't aware of that. I bet you feel like a complete fool don't you. You certainly seem like a complete fool. Have a nice flame out.

@hippyjoe1955
Santa Claus now gives Eternal Life?
No, that's Odin's gift when I join Him in Valhalla. I hope I'm there to watch you trying to explain youself to Him. It will be really funny watching you make an even bigger fool of yourself. :)

@hippyjoe1955 In case anyone cares I put Sharon on permanent ignore. She has nothing new to contribute to the discussion. If she wants to share her ignorance she can do it without me having to read her nonsense.

An observation. Religious statements drive the atheists absolutely off the wall as evidenced herein. They cannot accept the fact some people readily accept God into their lives.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@carpediem They are not atheists. They are antitheists which puts them into a whole new kettle of stupid. The one presently demanding evidence doesn't even know what a god is. Too Funny!!!
carpediem · 61-69, M
@hippyjoe1955 LOL. He's upset I can tell you that. How dare you not accept his views as fact.
Carazaa · F
@carpediem I am not addressing atheists. I am addressing Godly people and those who haven't read the Bible. Many write me that they are very blessed reading Gods word! I pray for wisdom and then I write what is on my heart. Many are blessed but too shy to mention it because of hateful atheistsic attacks!

@SW-User Thank you for commenting! I agree 🙏 🤗
If all you're going to do here is quote Bible verses with literally nothing to back them up, why should anybody listen to you?

@hippyjoe1955
Romans 9 "I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit— 2 I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. 3 For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race, 4 the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. 5 Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah, who is God over all, forever praised![a] Amen.

God’s Sovereign Choice
6 It is not as though God’s word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel. 7 Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” 8 In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring. 9 For this was how the promise was stated: “At the appointed time I will return, and Sarah will have a son.”[c]

10 Not only that, but Rebekah’s children were conceived at the same time by our father Isaac. 11 Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God’s purpose in election might stand: 12 not by works but by him who calls—she was told, “The older will serve the younger.”[d] 13 Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”[e]

14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! 15 For he says to Moses,

“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”[f]

16 It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. 17 For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”[g] 18 Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.

19 One of you will say to me: “Then why does God still blame us? For who is able to resist his will?” 20 But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’”[h] 21 Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?

22 What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? 23 What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory— 24 even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles? 25 As he says in
Hosea:
“I will call them ‘my people’ who are not my people;
and I will call her ‘my loved one’ who is not my loved one,”[i]

26 and,

“In the very place where it was said to them,
‘You are not my people,’
there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’”[j]

27 Isaiah cries out concerning Israel:

“Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea,
only the remnant will be saved.
28 For the Lord will carry out
his sentence on earth with speed and finality.”[k]

29 It is just as Isaiah said previously:

“Unless the Lord Almighty
had left us descendants,
we would have become like Sodom,
we would have been like Gomorrah.”[l]

Israel’s Unbelief
30 What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; 31 but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as the way of righteousness, have not attained their goal. 32 Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone. 33 As it is written:

“See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes people to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall,
and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame.”[m] Romans 9
@LordShadowfire Do you ever prune a tree? Are you mean to the branches that you burn up? Ofcourse not. We are branches and Jesus prunes us.
[c=BF0000]The Vine and the Branches
15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.

The World Hates the Disciples
18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. 24 If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’[c]

The Work of the Holy Spirit
26 “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me. 27 And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning. John 15

@LordShadowfire
He isn't talking to me yet.
It's never spoken to me either, nor have I seen any real evidence of it.

Hearing "god" can be a symptom of schizophrenia or bipolar disorder so you'd be well advised to seek professional help if you believe it is speaking to you.
