Is Love Evil? [Spirituality & Religion]

God is Love, but the skeptics, who don’t believe that He’s real see Him as an evil God who causes suffering and all kinds of disasters in this fallen world of ours. How can a being, who’s supposed to be not real, cause so much suffering? Is this the only reason why they don’t believe in God? I believe that they have to think this way in order that they can keep their disbelief in Him for if they stated thinking that He is all good, they would have no excuse to keep their disbelief in Him.
4Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, [c]thinks no evil; 6does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10But when that which is [d]perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

So if i lost 3 of my kids to malaria,2 to starvation,it’s my fault to feel miserable because I didn’t handle the situation with love in my mind?

@GodSpeed63
Because it's the Word of God.
You've never been able to produce any evidence to even suggest your specific god exists. Claiming a book of myths and superstitions is its word is utterly ridiculous.
There's only one god, yahweh is his name.
LOL! You even repeatedly deny believing in that yahweh thing.
Sharon · F
@GodSpeed63
I didn't write the holy bible, yahweh did.
Considering all the errors and contradictions in it, this yahweh thing can't be much of a god.
@SW-User You're right! If this world didn't have sin in it, that wouldn't happen. And we know that because when Adam and Eve were created, everything was perfect. There was no sin in the world at that time. Sin means disobedience. It brings nothing but condemnation , death, in both the physical and spiritual sense, and keeps us separated from God until it is Forgiven. God had warned them not to take a bite from the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge. He knew what would happen. But He's he didn't force them to eat it. Yet because he gave us free will, he doesn't interfere with that, or it wouldn't BE free will. Well, Satan came along and lied to them and they decided to eat it anyway and that's when sin came into the world. It separates us from God until we go to Jesus and have him forgive us of our sins so we're fit for heaven. God will not let sin into heaven, because heaven is so beautiful and pure and holy, and it would not BE Heaven if send was allowed in it. God hates sin for that reason. Because it separates US from HIM. He loves us, however, unconditionally, and he's trying to help us GET to heaven. But FIRST we have to have our sins forgiven, so we won't miss heaven and will never be separated from Him again, because of our bad choices. Read the following carefully and you will see that God did not come to condemn has. He came to SAVE US AND REDEEM US from hell.

I suspect you only wrote this to provoke response but just in case you were labouring under the belief that this was a logical argument, allow me to point out where it fails in that respect:
but the skeptics, who don’t believe that He’s real see Him as an evil God
Yes. Many atheists view the character of god as described in the bible as evil.
How can a being, who’s supposed to be not real, cause so much suffering?
He can't and doesn't. Here you make the mistake of supposing that the behaviour assigned to the character of god cannot be recognized as good or evil even in the absence of a believe that said behaviour is real.
I believe that they have to think this way in order that they can keep their disbelief in Him for if they stated thinking that He is all good, they would have no excuse to keep their disbelief in Him.
I think at this point i've shown the illogic of this assumption. But to beat this dead horse: One must neither believe nor disbelieve in order to recognize certain acts as good or evil.

Conclusion:

Feel free to continue believing in god but do please refrain in future from repeating this facile argument.

Is love evil? Nah.
Is god love? Nah.

@Pikachu
Your little word games are a bore.
What word games would those be?
Please clarify.
Have you forgotten already?
of course i have.
You're not even close, Pikachu.

Have you forgotten already?🤣 It's literally the next sentence.

Sorry kiddo, i have no time for your dishonest little games. If you grow a pair and actually engage with the ideas like a grownup then you will earn my attention.

Until then i'll treat you like the child your behaviour shows you to be.
I'm putting you on a time out.

@Pikachu
Have you forgotten already?
Nope, I just don't play word games is all.
Voldemort is evil but still fictional. And you can still hate a fictional character for being a Pos. Just like you don't have to believe in a fictional character like superman for being good. The morality doesn't matter if you can't prove they are real.
Sharon · F
@canusernamebemyusername In Godspeed's world, it's for others to prove his imaginary friend isn't real because he can't prove it is. By the same argument, of course, he must believe in The Flying Spaghetti Monster because he can't prove It doesn't live. :)
And lets just pretend the entire contents of the old testament or the fact that he required human sacrifice for the "sins" of mankind.

And also you might want to look up begging the question.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow
Actually I did.
Not from where I'm sitting.
@GodSpeed63 Well you do make a habit of just ignoring everything you don't like so I am not surprised.
@monte3 I unblocked a couple of people yesterday and saw that you were blocked - I must have done that by mistake. Oh well...

I believe in God but still have doubts when bad things happen and why can't he stop them?

@Emosaur I rather be born in Tennessee, I hope reincarnation is real to be born in Tennessee in the next life.
Tennessean · 31-35, F
@Emosaur I hate being Alabamian I wish I was dead so I can die and come back as a Tennessean. If reincarnation isnt real then there's no hope and I rather be dead than being Alabamian.

Move to Tennessee then.
So, it's love if I make a race of creatures, tell them to kiss my ass, then kill the ones who won't.

@LordShadowfire That's only the christian belief. Meanwhile, in the real world,...
