Jesus taught us that we have the power to change the situations that we are born into. We are not responsible for the sins that our families or ancestors have committed. It was common in that era for the guilt to trickle down to 7 generations and curse a family. Imagine being freed from that? He empowered us by changing our way of thinking about our situations. When we are weak we become strong. We can learn a lot through our struggles and teach others by our example to overcome their struggles.
