Matt 5:43 "Love your God with all your heart, with all your mind, and all your soul, and love your neighbor as yourself. On this hang all the law [Spirituality & Religion]

and the prophets"

"Love your enemies, and pray for those who despitefully use you" Matt 5:43

These are Jesus words, anything else is sin.

God is love. As such, love is and always has been His standard. If we fail to show love, we fall short of His standard - we sin.

God wants us to love Him with every fiber of our being – mind, soul, and body - the same way He loves us. Because God loves each of us, He wants us to love each other. You might picture it as a triangle… /_\ God’s love flows down to us and our love flows up to God (/). Our love flows to others, and their love flows to us (--). And their love flows to God as well (\). Perfect harmony.

Jesus came to physically show us God. As such, everything Jesus said and did was love. His life was love. His teachings were love. Even His death was love. He met God’s standard perfectly.

We, on the other hand, kind of fall short of God’s standard. Sure, we try to love… well, most of the time. Maybe not that person who cut us off in traffic this morning; or that person who stole our car last week; or that rotten neighbor who has to do drum solos at one in the morning! Everyone else, though, we (try to) love them. When we fail to show love - even once - we’ve fallen short of God's standard. Unfortunately, the penalty for falling short of that standard is death; meaning permanent separation from God. No ifs. No ands. No buts.

Now the penalty for falling short of the standard is death, but the reward for not falling short is life. Jesus met God’s standard perfectly, and by so doing, He was able to claim that reward. Now, since Jesus loves, He offers to share that reward with all those who can’t obtain it (that’s everybody). All we have to do is trust Him (trust that He will do what He said) and obey Him. What does He ask us to do? Love. Love both God and other people… even our enemies. The words He spoke show us how to love. Sure, we’re going to fail (future tense). But He didn’t fail (past tense).

@Carazaa Of course you could be right, but I'm still sceptical
Carazaa · F

@Carazaa Thank you, I will watch it later today🙏

How long would a religion have lasted if there were no threat of Hell to scare people with?
CestManan · 46-50, F
@helenS what is a mosaic religion?
Carazaa · F
@CestManan Every "religion" has rituals to their gods to peace them. All people know that it is not ok to sin, Gods' law is written on our hearts. But only Jesus came down from heaven to take our sins away because He is God and he loves us.
helenS · 36-40, F
@CestManan Mosaic = derived from Moses = Jewish, Christian, Islamic.
helenS · 36-40, F
Yes, his words for all mankind. 🌷
Carazaa · F
@helenS It is "God breathed" Jesus says. Every number, and every word has spiritual meaning. The more you STUDY it the more you realize it can not have human inspiration because of the fulfilled prohesies! Jesus is coming this generation because of the signs and the birth pangs we are seeing that are increasing in intensity and frequency!
helenS · 36-40, F
@Carazaa That book has a long editorial history.

3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.[a]

11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.

I try to live like this, but I have a hatred for certain people in the world
usher · 41-45, F
@Carazaa I'll pray that they die and burn in Hell, No kidding
Carazaa · F
@usher Praying for them will change your feelings for them.
usher · 41-45, F
@Carazaa I was really referring to Kim Jung Un and leaders from Saudi Arabia.. And all of the most Evil people in this world. I can't pray for Kim jung un as he ordered the death of lots of women by training soldiers to use pliers to torture them to death. There is no prayer for him from me ever. Sorry for being so graphic, but it had said

We used to have a sign in the band room that said Love people Use things.
SW-User
What if you have a difficult time loving yourself?
Carazaa · F
@SW-User I think there are many who have negative self cognition but I think it can help tremendously to know God loves us. If God is with us, who can be against us.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
Talking about having the love of God and actually showing it are two different things Carazaa.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@Carazaa Shouldn't you be resting on the Sabbath?
Carazaa · F
@Harriet03 I witness on Sundays, I think that is ok, and so is hiking, and other relaxing hobbies like sailing, etc. I just wont work (garden, clean, laundry, work making money unless its emergency for people who need help. And volunteering is ok I think if we are helping people. I just try to be pleasing to God as best as I can. But I am far from perfect. I think we need to relax at least one day a week for our health, but also to honor God with fasting and prayer. To "honor the the Sabbath and keep it Holy" Exodus 20 is a command from God, not a choice.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@Carazaa The Sabbath mentioned in Exodus is from Friday night until Saturday night.
NOT Sunday dear!
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M

Carazaa · F
@MartinTheFirst I am not sure what you mean.
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@Carazaa We remembered his sacrifice and life with wine and bread is what I mean, although we dont eat or drink it.
