A Question To The Family Of God [Spirituality & Religion]

[c=#7700B2]casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
II Corinthians 10:5[/c]

How do you keep from saying everything that pops up in your head. Lately I regret quite a lot of things that come out of my mouth. I just don't know how to talk to people and keep my opinions to myself. I know avoiding with people is a cowardly move considering the fact that I still live with my parents. I know God is in the process of working things out for me cause now I don't get all defensive and upset when someone points out that I had no business saying what I said anymore but it wouldn't hurt to do something right.

I write the things on my mind ,read it ,and ask myself would Christ approve .
if not I hit delete .
I constantly remind myself we represent Christ ,we are the image the world see's .
Everything we do is analyzed so the lost can say ,
"and you call yourself a Christian "giving all believers a black eye .
in person I remind myself what grandma said ,
"if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all .
Its not always easy ,but the more we submit ourselves to God ,
the easier it becomes reflecting His character ,and less of our own .
But as hearts get colder and colder and people who say they are Christs are not so nice anymore either .
I consider it part of my duty to show we are not all fake jerks
some of us walk the walk as well as talk the talk .
Its not always easy ,but if we can't take it now ,how much harder will it get the closer we come to the return of Christ when God is allowing us to be tested ?
The last Church will need more then lip service ..
and only those who endure to the end will be saved ..

just my opinion ,
I suggest consulting the word of God and the Holy Spirit for more personal instructions .

Like Eph 6 ,take unto you the whole armor of God that we might be able to stand in those evil days .
Its going to get worse .we are in a battle .

Try saying things to yourself in your mind before saying it to others.. At lest then you will have a chance to modify what you say if it sounds inappropriate..

And yes prayer is always a good thing.. Request help from God to help you say what needs to be said in the way He wills it to be said..

It is not cowardly to be cautious if you know you have a weakness in an area of your life.

Lastly forgive yourself because we are all just human and so we all from time to time say things we later regret saying.. Jesus has dealt with our transgressions and we are forgiven so no point in being unforgiving towards ourselves..

We learn by trial and error.
The mistakes lead us to changes and to prayer

@SW-User But I hate feeling condemned everytime I error. It makes me feel like the worst person in the world

@karysma Jesus said "neither do I condemn thee"
it sounds like false guilt if you ask for forgiveness you are forgiven

@SW-User Amen to that. I really needed to hear that 😊
