Are the Gospels Eyewitness Accounts? [Spirituality & Religion]

Historical Accounts that can't be changed.
Yes. The myths of the ancient world were never based on solid historical fact. They were stories invented to explain such recurring phenomena like the changing of the seasons or the motion of the stars. The events recorded in the Scripture, on the other hand, are firmly rooted in history and archeology. By way of illustration, it is a historical fact that Israel became a nation after the exodus from Egypt. Later, Israel became a monarchy, David and Solomon really lived, and on and on and on. It is also a historical fact that Jesus was a Jew who preached about God the Father, who claimed to be God, worked miracles, and was crucified during Pilate’s reign. All of this is literal history.

actually many hi profile atheists accept the gospels and pauls epistles as being truth and factual. archaeology has proven the bible to be truth many times over in discoverys over past 2 centurys.

@1490wayb No doubt a few things in the bible refer to actual events or places, most works of fiction do. The Harry Potter books refer to King's Cross Station and London, both real places. I know that for a fact as I've visited them myself. That must prove the Harry Potter books are all true.
LOL! Mostly fiction.

@NortiusMaximus
Prove they're not.
When you make an honest effort to prove the Scriptures are fiction, then, and only then, will you have your proof that they are not fiction.

He'll never do that, it beyond his abilities.
Graylight · 51-55, F
No. They're eyewitness accounts become stories become written word and it's estimated that took 50-300 years.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Graylight
There's been academic research into the Bible longer than anyone in our families has been alive.
Without the Spirit of God, no man can interpret the Word of God accurately.

@GodSpeed63 You assume it was missing. And you cannot prove such a thing.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Graylight
You assume it was missing.
The Spirit is never missing. We're the ones that are lost, not Him.
More like misinformation that won't be corrected. That clown is a major purveyor of BS.
@GodSpeed63 The evidence is there for anyone to see. Ignore it if you wish but you can't make it go away.

The only evidence I see Is God's Word for everyone to see but not everyone will agree.

You're just seeing what you want to see. Others can see the truth.

I'm not religious in the definition your used go by, I have Jesus in my heart and my religion, if you will, is defined in James 1:27.
