How come the religious beliefs i have (catholic) that i'm very hard on myself beating myself up over really nothing i do [Spirituality & Religion]

I rarley mess up and that's not an ego cause I enjoy my sleep .
There a prayer there and it says " I renounce evil spirits and all its works . I give you my entire self to Jesus"
But I'm after getting scared of where it says it's evil spirits cause a lot of evil was done to me and it came through .
So I'm supposed to give myself to Christ after all the evil is done .
What's the purpose of having a belief when evil things be done to you by humans

I am a Christian. Believing God is believing the truth and believing in Love.. Believing in God is not for avoiding evil things in this life.. Believing in God gives me the Hope of existing in eternity after this life in a perfect existence without evil forever and ever..

When people only believe in God to get benefits in this life it is understandable that they lose faith in God when things go bad in their lives.. But the God of Abraham never says that He will give people lives without troubles in this world..
