Why do christians pray? [Spirituality & Religion]

According to the christian myth, their god has this great plan and always does what's best for us. Praying amounts to asking it to do something it hadn't thought of doing. Isn't it rather arrogant of them to presume they know better than their "almighty god"?

Because they want something or they are scared.
@Entwistle would you possibly know?

@SomeLikeItHot Yes as I was raised a Christian.
Can you give me another reason why Christians pray?..other than they want something or that they are scared.
@Entwistle
Prayer is a way to give thanks for what God has given them. Praise is included to describe the wonder of God in your life.
Spiritual needs are fulfilled particularly when the Holy Spirit intervenes for a person saved.
There are others if you would like further elaboration.

@SomeLikeItHot so always wanting something then. As i said.
@Entwistle
If you have never prayed you wouldn’t understand but to be generous let me leave you with a well known image. Jesus is the Savior, the Shepherd and we are like sheep totally dependent on our Shepherd. Prayers help us let him know our love and needs.

Get over yourself.

@Emosaur
A Soul saved by Jesus Christ the Savior of the world has prayers you obviously have no concept of. Just let it be because you could never understand what a prayer is.

Grew out...you might have never become a member of the church.

Same here. It was a legal requirement for schools to attempt to indoctrinate us here in the UK.
