We know that 80% of religious persecution today is aimed at Christians. The course that merely fulfils what the Bible says: “All men shall hate you because of me”
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@Speedyman yes it's a tragedy for those involved but even worse for the persecutors, if they don't repent they'll face God's wrath in the judgment
Carazaa · F
@TheWildEcho Good point!
Yes absolutely true, that’s why we witness even though some of us are in danger so people will not ever have Gods wrath on them but be blessed, in this life and the next!
Carazaa · F
@Speedyman
Yes we can expect it! They love their sins and they know there is a God, and they hate him and anyone who comes in the name of the Lord!

@Speedyman no all ppl hate Christianity because it’s fake
Carazaa · F
@JovialPlutonian
People hate christians because they love the Lord!
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@JovialPlutonian if Christianity was fake no one would care less and certainly wouldn't hate it
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@Carazaa no because they’re self righteous and rub their apparent? wholeness into everyone’s face.
Carazaa · F
@JovialPlutonian yep we know truth and no one likes that! But we love people! Our motives are good! 🙂
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@JovialPlutonian I don't know any self righteous Christians, were all forgiven sinners
Carazaa · F
@TheWildEcho yes we realize we are sinners and we have humbled ourselves and repented! We are forgiven!
@Speedyman And at the same time, Christians hold many leadership positions around the world.

Like who?@LeopoldBloom
@Speedyman Well, every US president, with the possible exception of Thomas Jefferson. And many European countries have a Christian denomination as their official state religion. Most if not all heads of sate in Latin America are Christian.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Well do these people follow the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth?@LeopoldBloom
@Speedyman Speaking for the U.S. presidents in my lifetime, Jimmy Carter definitely did (and still does), Donald Trump definitely doesn't, and the others fell somewhere in between.

It's fascinating how the American Evangelical community abandoned Jimmy Carter, who was possibly the most sincere Christian to ever occupy the White House, in favor of a divorced, somewhat libertine actor, for no reason other than Carter was perceived as insufficiently hostile to homosexuals.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
I think you’ll find if you read history that was not the only reason. I remember the time when Carter was president and he was a really good man but he wasn’t the greatest of leaders. The greatest issue was the Iran hostage crisis not the homosexuality . I certainly don’t think what you’re saying was the only issue and you don’t need to read a bit more about it if you don’t remember it@LeopoldBloom
@Speedyman With all due respect, you don’t live here. The Moral Majority began around that time, and it was based primarily on opposition to abortion and oppression of LGBT. Carter didn’t go along with that, and Reagan did.

Today those same right wing Christians support Donald Trump, even though he embodies the polar opposite of everything Jesus represented.
Carazaa · F
@LeopoldBloom Carter was a Christian!
Carazaa · F
@LeopoldBloom Many true Christians do not support Trump because he doesn’t show love for people!
@Carazaa I know Carter is a Christian - a real one. So it's unfortunate that the Christian community abandoned him in favor of a fake Christian like Reagan.
Speedyman · 70-79, M
Politics is about policy. We don’t actually know that Reagan was a fake Christian@LeopoldBloom
Carazaa · F
@Speedyman true!
