Can I get an amen? [Spirituality & Religion]

Adstar · 56-60, M Best Comment
Amen.. 😊 I greatest things i lost where depression, worry and fear..
TheWildEcho · 56-60, M
@Adstar yes God certainly changes our lives for the better!

While that is true, and I get the meaning, I cannot say I get nothing from regular prayer. There are a list of things one gets from prayer. It is important to pray daily. I don't want people to think otherwise. He can't say he got nothing. He gained much from praying each day. We are to pray for wisdom, if we lack it. Our health, our nation, our president, others, a long list of which we reap great benefits, such as wisdom, strength, humbleness, patience, perseverance, a loving heart, kindness, consideration, so many, including the healing of ourselves and others. I get the point. I just didn't care for the wording much on this one.

@LadyGrace yes I agree entirely, I just thought this showed a different slant on prayer! Just something to think about.
@TheWildEcho Yes. Great idea. Very good. Thank you.
😊

I think that true prayer helps to focus a person on something other than him-/herself, and it should help clear the soul for hearing the "still, small voice" which is attributed to the One Who Is in a story of Elijah...i.e., it helps us to listen to our conscience, grows the παράκλητος, strengthens our connection with/to others through our stronger connection with God.

True seekers seem to be converging...but that might be me projecting.

So he GAINED peace...the most important gain. Nothing is probably answet to a question about materialistic things.

@SW-User I'm sure you are right!
Nice you're sharing something meaningful outside your faith tradition. Shows a strong character. Well done.

@Emosaur Except yours. Yours is that rubber girlfriend you keep praying she will let you back in the bedroom.
