What do you make of near death experiences? [Spirituality & Religion]

Just brain waves running amok or legit glimpses of an alternate reality? Any of you had one? Would love to hear it...
I definitely believe they're real. SOME make them up to make money off a book, but some I feel are very true. These people didn't make these experiences up. They've come back and told the doctors and nurses EXACTLY what they said when trying to revive them. I know one man personally, a very good friend of mine, who had one. A man I know never lies. He had no reason to and was not advertising it or writing a book. It was so wonderful.

@LadyGrace That's awesome! :) ... Some of the stories are very hard to deny or debunk. One thing is for sure ...They're very real and profound for the people who have them.
@brokensignal Absolutely. I believe in them 100% and do search them out on YouTube. There's one inpeticular that stands out to me that I wrote about here, but would have to hunt it up. There is no way that man was lying. Anything is possible in the spirit world. Some go to heaven and some have experienced hell and came back to tell about it.

@RamessesII Maybe God didn't have time to fire up the near death experience projection screen? 🤷‍♂️

Until I know, I don't make up my mind either way. I keep in mind that they could be like dreams and chemicals your brain floods you with. I still don't think it's for me to say though.

I have a pre-birth experience, like not necessarily being born but right before I was born. Ironically, I have some similarities with NDE's only without all the heaven and hell part, I don't think I had any concept of it. More like a formless shape that's terrified because something was pulling me down into what I now know was my mother's womb. I remember trying to go somewhere else but being pulled down regardless.

Still to this day, I want to remember where I was going lol, whatever it was, must have been important.

Though there is this, I don't remember the link but it was on a science channel saying how scientists were saying that our brains are like little universes or something to that extent. I wish I could remember the wording.

@SatanBurger That experience you described is really interesting and kinda mind blowing actually. That makes me think about reincarnation or something like it... Was hearing a friend talk recently about how life/existence is a karmic prison in some way. We have to keep reliving the experience of living here until we somehow get our soul in the right state. Anyway thanks for the awesome response!

@brokensignal That's why I do semi believe in reincarnation. Your welcome 🤗

@SW-User So you think this stuff is all in our heads? The details of a lot of them definitely have a lot of recurring themes. I've heard some strange NDE's where people supposedly hover outside of their bodies and hear conversations in other rooms, then later recount the details back to the people who were talking. Not saying I disagree, but I think there are some compelling stories out there.

@SW-User Certainly ... The brain is a story making machine. I'm not totally sure that everything is thoroughly explained though. There is room to wonder. But yes... There is no scientifically verifiable evidence that can be pointed to that would prove there is any validity to NDE stories. Agreed there..

I've had enough of my own to believe maybe I did die and this is purgatory.
brokensignal · 46-50, M
@Lostpoet You've had more than one? Wow... What happened?
Lostpoet · M
@brokensignal 🤷🏼‍♂️ I'm a kluts

@Lostpoet Yes...we're working our way out of hell it seems...😈

You go there, but it's not your time and you return.💙 My friend had one and it changed him. He's calmer now.⭐️

@Peaches 👍️ Nice!

It’s so weird. I saw something about this on TV today. I wasn’t really watching but it did seem interesting. I wish I paid attention now! lol.
brokensignal · 46-50, M
@HannahBee You could look them up. I'm listening to a podcast about them right now actually. I think the stories are kind of interesting. :)
HannahBee · F
@brokensignal They we’re talking about why they happen and what’s really going on, or theories I guess. Then there was something about the telepathic connection twins have and stories about twins who were separated at birth and lived identical lives. Really interesting, but I was busy with school work, lol.

@Louiseknightly Man I'm sorry..That's awful. Did you have any kind of afterlife experience when it happened?

Very unreliable reports.
brokensignal · 46-50, M
@Nika2002 So like ... Everyone who reported an NDE is unreliable? (That's a pretty substantial number of people.) The reports themselves are unreliable? What criteria would be reliable in your view?
Nika2002 · 18-21, F
@brokensignal It's the power of suggestion. People are told what to expect when they die. And lots of believing people don't even have the prescribed NDE. It's random, like the answering of prayers.
brokensignal · 46-50, M
@Nika2002 So you're saying the events themselves are somehow the subconscious mind producing effects that are influenced by a person's beliefs? Definitely see some randomness happening in the NDE reports ...I agree. And that's a really interesting point. Although there are a lot of consistent themes and experiences. I listen to a podcast about it, and a LOT (like overwhelmingly large amount) of people have a highly loving encounter that is very much based on examining how they made people feel in their lives .. Lot of consistency in having that life review experience and being told that the way they treat people (often the little things) are the things that matter most ... They're shown moments where they may have hurt someone and didn't even realize it. Or made someone really happy and didn't know it. Your specific religion or dogma isn't as important. Or doesn't seem to be anyway...
